The triskele is thought to symbolize important threes in the Celtic world: land, sea, and sky - the foundation of the Celtic cosmology. It is also a symbol of the triple god; the triple goddess - Maiden, Mother and Crone; and later the holy trinity.

The knots each measure approximately 14.3 mm (9/16") long, 12.3 mm (1/2") wide and and hang 1 3/16" long (29.5mm).
