The cartouche or "shenu" symbolizes a rope in which a name is written. The cartouche is thought to protect the namesake within it. This cartouche holds the Egyptian God Horus, a creator and warrior God whose eyes were thought to be the sun and moon. Horus is a symbol of kingship, the sky and victory.
The Horus ring is available in US sizes 7 to 11.5.
The ring measures approximately 25.1 mm (1") long, 8.9 mm (just under 3/8") wide and 6.4 mm (1/4") thick. The band measures approximately 3.1 mm (1/8") wide at the back of the band.
In sterling silver the ring weighs approximately 14.2 grams; in gold approximately 17.8 grams. Weight will vary with size. The inside of the cartouche is hollowed to reduce weight.
The ring is available in 14k. White Gold for an additional $25.00 US.
